Count Down To Prom

Although some proms have already passed by in the month of April there are still plenty to go in May and June. I have researched the great inter-web and came up with a nifty "little" check list of things to do on your count down to your amazing day!!

First things first..

ASAP As soon as you’ve decided to go to prom or attend a special event, DO NOT stop eating quite as much junk food. This does not mean go on a junk food diet. It just means that your meals shouldn’t consist of lettuce and tofu, and you should drink a little extra soda. I do recommend drinking extra water. This will ensure that your skin is clear.

About 1 month- 3 weeks before...

Maybe find a date and a dress? I see nothing wrong in not having that prince charming hanging on your arm that'll just end up hanging out with his friends while you dance with your girls. I honestly think that these two checklist items are of equal importance (okay, maybe scoring a crazy gorgeous dress is of slightly higher priority). Go nuts try on 100's of dresses, take mom with you for sure she will love it! She is also the one paying for it I am sure. Seeing the price the first time when she actually sees you fall in love with it will be easier for her to say yes! If your dress is going to require significant alterations, use safety pins :D no seriously, you may want to allow a week or two more. Book your photography session! Yes wait til last minute to find out your favorite photographer is FULLY booked the day of your event!

AT LEAST 2 WEEKS BEFORE... If you want to use self-tanner and actually see a noticeable difference, I would start a couple weeks beforehand. Please be careful not to turn Yourself into a "Dorito", this may not be the look your going for and if any of your friends get hungry they may take a bite out of you, so if anything use self-tanner "lightly" to just even out your skin tone (i.e., get rid of those pesky tan lines from spring break).

2 WEEKS- 10 DAYS BEFORE...

Make sure all your extras (jewelry, shoes, cell phone case, purse.) are in your possession. That means if you ordered these items online, I hope you used moms Amazon Prime!, they better be on your doorstep by then. This gives you added time to go shopping if the jewelry or shoes are not what you were expecting, or don't fit, we all know how often that happens when we order from the internet!! Just simply change your mind and go shopping again, who doesn't like to spend money?? Which by the way I highly recommend Tish's Finer Fashion

10 DAYS BEFORE...

DO NOT start using your face cream religiously. I get really lazy about skincare, but if you definitely want your face to be as radiant and flawless as possible without any of those grand BIG white heads for pictures.. Then go ahead and use it religiously. Might not be a good idea your face might not like it and back fire on you. Just continue using it as you normally have been might be your best bet ;)

A WEEK OR SO BEFORE... Go to a flower shop with your date, spend some more money on a useless item :D and order your corsage and his boutonniere, make sure he flips the bill on this one! Or take a friend or mom or dad.

A WEEK BEFORE..

Go ahead and get started on those white strips or whatever whitening system you prefer. Red lips (or any shade of lipstick for that matter) definitely do not go with a dull smile. And no one for sure will noticed the difference in your yellow stains from a week ago, of course they'll stand right out in the dark anyways. Whiten away ladies.

4 DAYS BEFORE...

Do a makeup test-run. You know because you started your religious skin cream 6 days ago lets oil up your face for that break out the morning of your event. Even if you’re having your makeup professionally done, add that to the bill dad, you do not want to end up with something you completely hate. A few days gives you time to adjust if needed. Your going to sweat it all off by the first dance anyways so just go with it.

2 DAYS BEFORE..

Get your nails done!!. I would definitely suggest getting shellac (you have the extra cash to spend) or anything that’s hardier than normal nail polish (gel, acrylic, etc). (Honestly not girly enough myself to understand what any of these are, but this is the rave everyone chats or blogs about) Otherwise, you run the risk of your nails chipping before the big day. In other words do not touch ANYTHING, let your parents take care of you for the day, take advantage of being incapable for 2 days

Finally the BIG day!! The day you spent years dreaming of, or maybe just days if your a procrastinator like me ha ha!

ON THE DAY... Don't do your hair and makeup, pay someone else to do it. Slip into that lovely dress, really hoping you made the right pick! Make sure your camera is all charged up Or higher a professional ;), then go have fun with your friends.

What it all boils down to is that you have a great time at your Prom you spend months, or even years planning it, make it count. Some will not be lucky and they might not get the prom the wanted/expected. Others may have the most amazing night of their life. You only get one and it will either way be a night you will remember. So spend crazy money, get gussied up, dance a lot and enjoy it!

Full disclosure this is just a humorous twist on getting ready for your prom, I am by no means insulting anyone's lifestyle or financial situation ;) Hope you all enjoy your Proms! Make sure to higher that professional photographer to capture amazing photos!
