With Father's day just around the corner and fast approaching, I am sure you have something special planned, or procrastinating and working on it like myself ;) Maybe you are struggling with ideas, or what to get him, hopefully I can help with that!

It is HIS day!

There are two, yes TWO times a year dad gets a special day where he wants to be spoiled, and pretty much do what he wants. So why not give him the camera and see what he can do with it. If you have a DSLR this will be VERY interesting ;) ;)

Maybe he will try some crazy "selfies" or even THINK he might get little ones to sit still long enough to get a picture, let him make the day what he wants it. It will be to interesting to see the day through his eyes (the camera).

If he decides the camera is not his thing, which like mine will probably be the case lol. It will be your job to take control and document the day accordingly. This does not mean you are going on an adventure or anywhere special. Your family home is the best place for any family photography. Documenting dads silly or serious sense of humor and traits that show the father figure you know and love.

If you're STILL stuck on ideas, just ask the man of the day Im sure he'll have great tips and advice, after all it is "his day".

Gift Ideas

If you're stuck on gift ideas, and dad loves photography or even loves those precious family memories. Maybe something from the following would be a great idea. All can be provided with a gift voucher upon your request.

*Photography Gift voucher - Valid on any session, prints or products.

*Photography Mentoring - Hands on learning, 1 day up to one month.

*Photography Pocket guide

Involve the Whole family

Father's day is even better when surrounded by your family, well dad surrounded by his family. Father's day is the best holiday for kids to get dad to do some crazy things, making for great memories. Dress up, water balloon war, some may even be somewhat embarrassing photos, but hey they are great memories, and the kids will love it!

Everyone should just be as natural as possible. Try to get all the sneaky shots. Even let the kids in on taking photos, kids have amazing perspective especially with a camera!!

Get grandma and grandpa involved! What is better then some photos of generational shots? "Oh my! you have grandmas nose", "check it out you have grandpas receding hairline" :) One photo taken can spark up hours of laughter and conversation. You can even play around with black and white (I am such a sucker!) photos can be so mesmerizing without color.

If you get some of those amazing shots and would like to show them off and include them in my June photo blog please feel free to email me your shots.

I also have family sessions available for your special Father's day, or maybe a daddy and me session would be of interest.

Enjoy your Father's day dads!!
